Title: The Power of Progressions: Untangling the Knotty Areas of Teaching and Learning Mathematics
Session Description: In this 2-day workshop, we’ll explore the power of math progressions. We will examine the developmental progression of models, strategies, and concepts in the areas of addition and subtraction, multiplication, and fractions. Participants will learn to harness the power of 3-act tasks and other high-yield activities to identify where student understanding is along these progressions, as well as to keep student thinking moving in the right direction.
